EVM Smart Account Contract Interactions
Sourdough expands to EVM by creating Smart Account contracts that are bonded to user source chain accounts. This enables users to control their accounts across multiple EVM chains by leveraging Axelar General Message Passing (GMP). Furthermore, users only need to prepare gas on the source chain, simplifying the gas preparation process compared to managing gas on each blockchain individually.
The Smart Account contract interactions can be divided into two main actions:
-
Account Creation
Users can create their first Smart Account contract through a chain integrated with Sourdough's GMP module. The process requires specifying the destination EVM chain, the deployed EntryPoint contract address on the destination chain, and a recovery address for system failure scenarios. After sending the GMP payload to Axelar via IBC Transfer, users receive a Smart Account address bonded to their source chain address.
-
Executing Transactions on the Smart Account
To execute transactions, users need to create a GMP payload on the chain where the account was initialized. This payload includes the Smart Account contract address, destination chain, EntryPoint contract address, and the desired transaction details. Upon sending the GMP payload, the EntryPoint contract verifies that the user signature from the source chain matches the account associated with the Smart Account contract.
Sourdough's integration with EVM through Smart Account contracts simplifies multi-chain account management and transaction execution. By leveraging Axelar GMP, users gain seamless control of their accounts across multiple EVM chains while reducing the complexity of gas preparation.
